More Voith CargoFlex Couplings For SBB Cargo

Since May 2019, the Voith CargoFlex couplings have been successfully deployed in regular service at SBB Cargo on 100 wagons and 25 locomotives, fitted with 200 wagon couplings and 50 hybrid couplings. Based on the positive results of the project, SBB Cargo decided to use the automatic couplings in its intermodal domestic transport starting in June 2021.

For this purpose, a further 206 wagon and 16 hybrid couplings have been ordered from Voith, and their delivery has recently started. With this fleet SBB Cargo will expand its intermodal domestic chain from the current six to eleven terminals in Switzerland.
