High Speed From Madrid To Cuenca, Albacete And Valencia

High Speed From Madrid To Cuenca, Albacete And Valencia

The high speed line linking Madrid with Cuenca and Albacete was inaugurated on 15 December 2010. On the 18th the section of line from Motilla del Palancar to Valencia was opened. Journey times between the capital and the Levante district on the Mediterranean coast have been reduced substantially.

On the right is the A3 motorway from Madrid to Valencia. The railway viaduct just visible in the left foreground is La Cuesta Negra (220 m long), followed almost immediately by Contreras (587 m), and after that comes El Rabo de la Sartén tunnel (376 m). The reservoir dam is situated to the southeast (right) of the motorway viaduct.

Bombardier's C.L.E.A.N. Diesel Technology

Bombardier's C.L.E.A.N. Diesel Technology

In October 2009 Bombardier Transportation presented the diesel technology with the lowest noxious exhaust emission levels now available for the rail vehicle industry. C.L.E.A.N. (Catalyst-based Low Emission ApplicatioN) Diesel technology offers the lowest emission levels for diesel-driven vehicles above 500kW class. Three months later an ITINO DMU equipped with C.L.E.A.N. Diesel technology entered regular service in Sweden.
