Early in the morning of 4 March 2012 RegioJet (RJ) made railway history in Slovakia starting up passenger services over the 100 km non-electrified single track line between Bratislava and Komárno, using a fleet of three-car Talent DMUs hired from Alpha Trains and liveried in yellow vinyls.
The changing face of local passenger services on the Slovakian rail network, epitomised by this scene at Bratislava hl. st. on 21 March 2012. 951.001, a ZSSK push-pull train, powered by 263.003, has just arrived at Platform 4. At Platform 5, RegioJet’s Talent DMU 643.374, waits ready for passengers to board.
