Le Panoramique Des Dômes
On 26 May 2012, 105 years after the first long-closed railway was inaugurated, visitors to the famous Puy-de-Dôme near Clermont-Ferrand will once again be able to ascend this extinct volcano by train. A new, electrified rack railway has been built in just over two years from near La-Font-de-l’Arbre to the summit, and trains supplied by Stadler.
This photo was taken on 3 February 2012 at the lower end the line, which curves clockwise round the extinct volcano.
