Held in München between 4 and 7 June, the 2013 edition of the world’s biggest trade fair for the logistics and supply chain industry attracted a record 53,000 trade visitors, compared with 51,310 in 2011. Around 45 % of the exhibitors and close on 40 % of the visitors came from outside Germany.
Siemens Vectron 193 806, which is the last of Railpool’s batch of six 15/25 kV AC 6,400 kW 200 km/h locomotives, was also exhibited.

LEO Express’s Class 480 EMUs
As part of the evolution of open access rail passenger services in the Czech Republic, in autumn 2010 LEO Express placed an order with Stadler for five FLIRT EMUs, designed for express long distance services. This resulted in the first acquisition of FLIRTs for regular service within the Czech Republic.
On 17 April 2013 FLIRT 480.003 leaves Praha hl. n. forming train LE 1363. The Czech capital is known as the city of a hundred spires and towers, and a fair selection of them are visible in the background.

Czech Raildays 2013
As in previous years, in 2013 the 14th edition of what is now the most important Czech rail transport trade fair embraced all aspects of rail transport, together with all modes used in urban public transport. The venue, as always, was the freight yard at Ostrava hl. n., the event taking place between 18 and 20 June, and attracting 187 exhibitors and 5,248 registered visitors.
PESA exhibited 844.017, one of the 31 RegioSharks being built for ČD, and a four-car ELF EMU EN76-035.

Velim Test Circuit Celebrates 50th Anniversary
On 5 June 1963, what is referred to as the Large test circuit, near the villages of Cerhenice and Velim, was inaugurated. On 22 May 2013 VUZ (Rail Research Institute) invited around 200 guests from the various sectors of the Czech and Slovakian railway industry to the testing base, to celebrate the anniversary.
