On 15 May 2014 ČD’s second Railjet was delivered to the Czech Republic. Starting on 21 May ČD modified and extended the railjet test commercial service to make use of both trains. These now cover six services daily, trains IC 570, 571, 572 and 573 between Praha and Břeclav and IC 100/101 „Moravia“ between Břeclav and Bohumín. The „Moravia“ trains regularly incorporate through RZD sleepers forming the direct service between Wien and Moskva and are now being hauled by the ČD Railjets over the Czech network. The photos taken on 21 May 2014 at Přerov show IC 100 Břeclav - Bohumín, which on that day was formed of the second Railjet, with Taurus 1216 234.

On 6 May 2014 ČD put its first ČD Railjet train, formed of ÖBB’s 1216 233 and a rake of stock with driving trailer 73 54 80-91 001, into passenger service. The inaugural run formed IC 571 „Zdeněk Fibich“ from Praha to Břeclav. On subsequent days the ČD Railjet is to be used for the IC 572/573 „Brněnský Drak“ train pair between Brno and Praha. Then the second train will join it between Praha and Brno, and mid-June, both will be transferred to train pairs EC 72/73 and EC 74/75, continuing to Wiener Neustadt.
The second photo shows ČD’s General Director, Daniel Kurucz (on the left), ÖBB Personenverkehr board member Birgit Wagner and Czech Siemens’s Rail Systems Division and Mobility and Logistics Division Director, Roman Kokšal, holding the symbolic "key" to the new train. The last photo in the sequence shows the ČD Railjet forming IC 571, near Opatov.

The large test track circuit (Železniční zkušební okruh, ŽZO) near the villages of Cerhenice and Velim, around 50 km east of Praha, was inaugurated in June 1963. On 20 May 2013 VUZ (Výzkumný Ústav Železniční - Rail Research Institute), which runs the testing complex, invited more than 200 guests to celebrate its 50th anniversary, which was marked by the presence of some interesting items of rolling stock. These included ČD’s Pendolino 680.003 and ÖBB’s railjet rake 80-90.716, the latter powered by 1216 229 (both locomotive and stock having participated in the presentation tour from Wien to Praha and Ostrava in April 2013). This train travelled from Austria via Havlíčkův Brod, and the accompanying photos show it first arriving at Kolín, then at nearby Velim station, and finally on the large test circuit. Both the 680 and the railjet were used to take guests on trips round the large test circuit. There were several other static „exhibits“ to be seen, including Class 146.5 and 187 TRAXXes. The final photo in the sequence shows the railjet on its return run to Austria, passing through Kolín.

On 17 April 2013 an ÖBB railjet reached Praha for the first time ever. It formed a special working from Wien, being routed via Brno. Shortly after its arrival in the Czech capital the locomotive 1216 229 was baptised "Spirit of Praha" by Birgit Wagner, one of the members of the ÖBB Personenverkehr board, Petr Žaluda, the chairman of the ČD board, and Roman Kokšal, the CEO of Siemens Mobility Czech. The event was realised to promote the proposed joint ÖBB/ČD railjet service which will link Praha, Wien and Graz and which is scheduled to start in December 2014. The final photo shows ÖBB’s visiting railjet, 80-90.716, departing from Praha hl. n. as train SC 513, bound for Ostrava, a service regularly operated by one of ČD’s Class 680 Pendolinos.
