RZD’s New Double Deck Carriages Presented

On 28 April 2015 Tverskoy vagonostroitelny zavod (TVZ, Tver Carriage Works, part of Transmashholding) presented examples of the batch of 15 double deck passenger carriages destined for RZD subsidiary FPK (Federalnaya passazhirskaya kompaniya, Federal Passenger Company). This contract for Model 61-4492 carriages with seating accommodation for daytime-only services was signed in August 2013. Their structural design is based on TVZ’s sleeping double deck carriages, however the bodyshells on the upper deck are slightly curved at the top of the sidewalls.
