EXPO 1520
The sixth EXPO 1520 was held on the premises of the VNIIZhT Research and Testing Institute in Shcherbinka between 30 August and 2 September 2017. There were 230 exhibiting companies, while on the outdoor exhibition area and during the demonstration runs and cavalcades on the test circuit there were 88 exhibits.
One of Uralskie lokomotivy’s exhibits was the prototype Lastochka Premium ES2GP-001.

Kazakhstan Develops Passenger PSOs
The Kazakh Government is currently restructuring the operation and financing of rail passenger services, where a growing number of private operators is appearing. One aspect of this legislation concerns the establishment, licensing and subsidising of specified socially-necessary operations using a Public Service Obligation strategy.
This is ED9E-0032 on 7 September 2017 on the viaduct on the approach to the new main terminus in Astana.

EKZ’s Latest Activities
Elektrovoz Kurastyru Zauyty in Astana is a purpose-built modern factory with a workforce of 420, designed for the production of electric locomotives. In addition to building new motive power for KTZ, it is also involved in contracts for locomotives for Azerbaijan.

Berlin To München HSL Countdown To Inauguration
On 10 December 2017 the Erfurt to Ebensfeld section of the high speed line between Berlin and München will be inaugurated, thus completing this 10 billion EUR project, also known as VDE 8, whose construction started in the early 1990s.
An ICE 3, modified having been fitted with on-board ETCS Level 2, emerges from the southern portal of the 3,766 m Eierberge tunnel on 17 August 2017, on a test run on which it reached 300 km/h.
