Between 24 and 27 September the 13th edition of the TRAKO international trade fair took place at the AmberExpo Exhibition & Convention Centre in Gdańsk. In R 5/19 we introduce the most interesting exhibits.
One of the newest trains was FLIRT 2 141 213/214, built for Koleje Mazowieckie, representing the largest contract so far ever awarded in the history of present Polish railways for the acquisition of a single type of train.

On 18 September 2019 SNCF announced that it had chosen CAF as preferred bidder to build 28 ten-car Intercité EMUs to replace rakes of locomotive-hauled Corail carriages. This is a major triumph for CAF - the first time that the Spanish manufacturer has been awarded a contract by SNCF.
The new trains will be dual-voltage (25 kV AC and 1.5 kV DC), two will be able to run in multiple.
The isolated 13.7 km third-rail electrified line on the east coast of the Isle of Wight, between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin, has been reprieved from possible closure, following the announcement on 16 September 2019 by the Department for Transport of a 26 million GBP modernisation programme.
The five two-car Vivarail rebuilds will be designated Class 484, in view of the fact that they are 660 V DC third rail EMUs.
The RegioJet services in Slovakia develops quickly in recent months. One of the main news has been the introduction of ex-DB Regio double deck stock on the Bratislava to Dunajská Streda and Komárno line.
This photo could suggest, at first sight, that it is somewhere in Germany. However in fact the location is between Bratislava-Nové Mesto and Podunajské Biskupice. The Eurorunner is ER 20-011 on hire from BRLL, hauling the train Os 4337 from Bratislava to Dunajská Streda on 17 September 2019.
