On 26 September 2012 IC 1003 service was hauled by 186 187 instead of by the customary Class 162 electric. The TRAXX is normally used by METRANS Rail on freights, and is on hire from Railpool. Unfortunate circumstances led to it being pressed into use by RJ. The latter’s 162.117 derailed that morning while shunting at Praha-Smíchov, and it was no possible to manouevre another locomotive at that time. Here we see the TRAXX at work on IC 1003 eastbound at Pardubice and returning at the head of the IC 1010, near Ostrava-Mariánské Hory (more photos can be seen on the Czech version of the news).
