ČD Cargo's TRAXXes Towards VUZ Velim

On the night of 14/15 April 2020 two locomotives of the new Class 388 for ČD Cargo were transported from the operator's depot in Ústí nad Labem to Velim. They were 388.001 and 002, the first two of ten Type TRAXX MS3 machines ordered by ČD Cargo in 2018, the first of which arrived in the Czech Republic in December 2019. Locomotives 388.001 and 002 were transported to Velim idle, by a regular ČD Cargo train. They then were moved to the VUZ Velim test centre to carry out other tests that remain to be realised before applying to Drážní úřad, the Czech rail authority, for a trial operation permit.
