More DMUs For Apulia

On 14 January 2019 Stadler has been awarded a 22.8 million EUR contract by Ferrovie Appulo Lucane (FAL) for four three-car narrow-gauge DMUs, together with an option for four more. The new trains will be delivered within 24 months and will be used on the 950 mm gauge network in Apulia and neighbouring Basilicata on lines including the Bari - Altamura - Matera route. The 52.5 m long DMUs have aluminium bodyshells, around 50 % of low-floor space and a maximum axle load of 12 t. They offer 154 seats and a space for up to 152 standees. Up to three DMUs can run in multiple.
