New Locomotives For Australian Coal Railways

In August 2012 Siemens was awarded an order by the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance for 13 heavy-haul Type E40AC freight locomotives, since late 2012 being built at the München-Allach works. This photo, dated 13 May 2013, shows BMACC 007 and 005 under construction. The first of the batch was despatched on 30 April 2013 to Bremerhaven port for its long voyage "down under".
