Class KZ8As Enter Test Commercial service

On 10 January 2014 KTZ put the first 12 Class KZ8A locomotives into test commercial service, hauling freights on the Ekibastuz - Tobol and Ekibastuz - Presnogorkovskaya lines. Here we see KZ8A-0013 at Astana depot on 13 January (together with a VL80 locomotive). This period of operation is designed to reveal what advantages and disadvantages the machines offer to the Kazakhstan state operator.
