Siemens Mobility and DB Cargo AG signed a framework agreement for the delivery of 100 Vectron multisystem locomotives. At the signing of the contract, DB’s freight division placed an initial call for 40 ones. They are planned for cross-border transport in several European countries. Delivery will begin in February 2019 and be completed by June 2020. This is a follow-on contract, because DB Cargo had ordered 60 locomotives already in the summer of 2017. The new DB Cargo Vectrons have a maximum output of 6.4 MW and a top speed of 160 km/h, and are equipped with the required national train control systems as well as the ETCS.

Siemens Mobility has sold over 800 Vectrons to date to a total of 41 customers. These locomotives are authorized in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
