posted on 22nd Jan 2021 07:36

Starting on 18 January 2021, the Belgian railway Infrastructure manager Infrabel is running tests with the purpose to carry out interference current measurements in order to check the compatibility of the new TCM100 track circuits with already homologated rolling stock.

Test runs are carried out on the Infrabel 3 kV DC network with rolling stock which has a valid admission to service on the Infrabel network and sometime also on sections where the TCM100 track circuits are not yet in service.

For the test runs Lineas’s locomotive 186 293 is used, together with a Class I10 WR restaurant car and five M4 cars, all of SNCB. These tests are exerted between Leuven and Liege-Guillemins via Aarschot and Bressoux and via Tienen going back to Leuven, and are planned for the whole next week.
