Vectrons For METRANS

On 9 April 2019, METRANS, the operator of a combined and container transport, ordered 10 Vectron MS locomotives from Siemens Mobility Czech Republic. Their production will take place at the München-Allach works and deliveries are scheduled from late 2019 to spring 2020. METRANS plans to use their new locomotives in international traffic within the CEE region. This decision was quite surprising, as so far METRANS built the fleet of its own modern electric locomotives on TRAXX type - so far it has acquired 40 of them. However in the tendering procedure, Siemens' bid was slightly better in the overall evaluation.
