Arenaways and European Sleeper to start Milano - Brussels night train

posted on 11th Jun 2026 18:41

Arenaways, in which Renfe Proyectos Internacionales has a 33% stake, and European Sleeper have reached an agreement to run a new night train service between Milano and Brussels. Renfe announced this news on 10 June 2026. The service is to be launched on 9 September 2026, with departures from Milano Porta Garibaldi on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and from Brussels on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Stops will be made at Como and at several Swiss stations, the train then serving Köln, Aachen and Liège. Journey time will be around 17 hours. After the timetable change in mid-December 2026, the service will be extended to Antwerpen, Eindhoven and Breda.

Matteo Arena, Arenaways’ General Director, stated: ‘We are very pleased to offer our experience and our equipment for the arrival in Italy of a new international connection, even more so on a route of great prestige like the one connecting Milano and Brussels. We firmly believe in collaboration between railway companies and hope that this will be the first of many trains, because we both work for an increasingly capillary-connected Europe, with transport services of growing innovation and quality.’

This cooperation is all the more interesting because the two companies already collaborated last year on the Brussels - Venice train, but then this cooperation ended in a breakup. Further new routes are planned in the future.
