On 6 June 2023 the 25 kV 50 Hz Class EP3D EMU produced by DMZ has successfully passed recertification. The certificate issued by the RS FZhT allows batch production of the trains for another five years.

Class EP3D has been in production since 2016. Over the eight years, 85 four-, six- and eight-car units have been produced. The trains are operated on the North Caucasus, Far East, Privolzhskaya, Krasnoyarskaya, Gorkovskaya, South-East, Zabaikalskaya, East Siberian Railways and in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The share of domestic components in the Class EP3Ds was close to 100 % in previous years. In preparation for recertification, the remaining parts of foreign manufactures were replaced with domestic counterparts.

Certification tests were conducted at the VNIIZhT Scherbinka, at DMZ and on the Gorkovskaya railway. The stock was tested on more than 120 indicators, including parameters of the braking system, electrical protection system, microclimate, operation of safety and firefighting systems, bodyshell strength and assessment of travel conditions for passengers with disabilities. The test results confirmed the train's compliance with the TR TS 001/2011 standards. The certificate allows the Class EP3D to be operated without restrictions in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
