ZSSK And ÖBB Vehicles Tested Between Bratislava And Komárno

In connection with the forthcoming replacement of RegioJet by jointly operating ZSSK and ÖBB on the Bratislava - Komárno line from 12 December 2020, the first test runs of „new“ vehicles envisaged for these services took place there.

In the daytime hours of 10 October 2020, test runs of a pair of ZSSK’s Class 840 DMUs and a three-car rake sandwiched by two „goggles“ took place. At night on the same day, an ÖBB push-pull rake with the Class 2016 diesel locomotive was tested.

The purpose of these test runs was to verify the traction properties of the these trains, to check the platform compatibility with these vehicles and to train staff on Class 840 DMUs.
