On 15 January 2020, the first new GTW 2/6 EMU was disembarked from a road trailer in the Poprad depot.
On 1 December 2020, first Class 661 RegioPanter entered regular passenger service with ZSSK.
In connection with the forthcoming replacement of RegioJet by jointly operating ZSSK and ÖBB on the Bratislava - Komárno line from 12 December 2020, the first test runs of „new“ vehicles envisaged for these services took place there.
On 17 September 2020, first part of the new double track electrified main line between Púchov, Považská Bystrica and Považská Teplá was put into operation.
On 25 June 2020 ZSSK presented to the media and the Slovak Minister of Transport two of its newest vehicles - a new two-car Class 861.1 RegioMover DMU and a long-distance Class Ampz carriage, both built by ŽOS Vrútky.
Following testing in early June, when EMU 660.002 for ZSSK was hauled dead by a ČD Class 380 locomotive, the new Slovak RegioPanter was able to start test runs on the SŽ network under its own power.
Tomorrow, for the first time, ZSSK will put into regular operation a new Class Ampz carriage from the current batch which is being built by ŽOS Vrútky.
While the batch production of three-car Class 661 RegioPanters for ZSSK is in progress, the prototype four-car EMUs 660.001 and 002 are located at the VUZ Velim test centre and type and authorisation tests are being carried out with them.
Based on the contract signed on 19 April 2017, ZSSK is also to receive from ŽOS Vrútky 28 Class Bmpz open space cars with deliveries scheduled for 2018 - 2020 and seven similar Class Ampz cars scheduled for delivery in 2020 - 21.
On 2 March 2020, ŽOS Vrútky-built RegioMover 861.101 arrived at the VUZ Velim test centre.
Since late April, the end cars for the three-car ZSSK Class 661 RegioPanter EMUs are being transported from Škoda Plzeň to ŽOS Trnava.
On 6 February ZSSK unveiled one of its future new RegioPanter EMUs, forming batch of 25 to be delivered starting in the summer of 2020.
