New Elfs For Czech RegioJet

On 7 March 2019 at the Polish embassy in Praha RegioJet signed a contract with PESA for seven dual-voltage (3 kV DC, 25 kV AC) two-car EMUs. These are to be of a new type, brand-named Elf.eu. They are to be used on the U5, U7 and U13 PSO services, from the start of the 2022 timetable (in December 2021), which will receive subsidisation from Ústecký kraj. These new trains will be partially low floor, with powered bogies at the outer ends of the end cars and non-powered bogies at the inner ends of both cars. They are scheduled to be put in test commercial service during the second half of 2021.
