RZD’s 2020 Batch Of Escort Carriages Completed

On 25 December 2020, TVZ sent to RZD four Model 61-4484 escort carriages for freight and infrastructure maintenance trains. This was the final batch of these cars manufactured under the contract signed in April 2020 for 12 escort cars.

Model 61-4484 cars are much shorter than ordinary passenger cars. They include compartments with eight berths in total, a shower room with a water heating system, a toilet, a storage room, a clothes dryer, and a workshop. Power supply from an onboard diesel genset allows the car to be autonomous for a long time.
