15 more trams for Kraków

On 3 February 2026, Kraków has ordered 15 more fully low-floor trams from PESA Bydgoszcz. This is the third contract for the new trams signed in the last six months. Thanks to these, a total of 65 modern trams (see also here and here) will be delivered to Kraków between 2028 and 2029. This will have a significant impact on the quality of Krakow's tram fleet.

The first of the 15 new over 33 m long trams will arrive in August 2028, and the last in June 2029. The total contract worth is nearly 273 million PLN net. Funding for their purchase will come from an investment loan granted to MPK Kraków by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. The loan was granted to MPK on very favorable terms, with a fixed interest rate of just 1 % and a repayment period of 20 years.

The contracts signed with PESA so far will enable the withdrawal of all Type 105Na, E1, and c3 trams, as well as some EU8N trams. MPK Kraków is not giving up the potential purchase of an additional 25 trams, which are part of a framework agreement for 90 trams signed in 2025 with PESA. However, this will depend on the availability of EU funds.
