Turkey is increasingly becoming a key transit country for rail freight transport between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. To promote the shift from road to rail and increase market share, the Turkish rail freight market is currently being liberalized. The government is making significant investments in expanding the rail sector to establish Turkey as an international logistics hub. A crucial part of this strategy is the modernization of the locomotive fleet.
