To complement its existing fleet, Stockholm Transport (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, SL) has ordered ten more Class X15p EMUs from Stadler, valued at 94 million CH. The 65-kilometre narrow-gauge Roslagsbanan network is unique and requires a special design as it has track gauge of just 891 mm. It links the northeastern suburbs of Stockholm to the capital. Stadler trains have been operating on the Roslagsbanan since 2023.
On 13 August 2025, SL ordered ten more units, with an option for up to 31 more. The new vehicles will replace the 30-year old trains built by another manufacturer. Each X15p unit has 150 seats and can carry around 300 passengers. The trains are barrier-free and offer ample space for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Delivery is planned to take place in stages starting in 2027, with operations scheduled to begin in 2028. The trains will be built in Bussnang.
