TINA in Den Haag

A new era of public transport arrived in Den Haag as HTM's new TINA tram was revealed to the public for the first time on 4 September 2026. The start of test operations is a significant step in the modernisation of HTM's tram network. HTM has ordered 62 TINAs from Stadler, which will progressively replace the long-serving GTL8 fleet, making it the largest order of TINA trams to date.
Extensive collaboration between HTM, Stadler and local stakeholders helped shape key elements of the interior design, with public feedback informing features including seating, stop buttons, and handrails. The vehicles are being manufactured at Stadler's facility in Siedlce. They are three-car bi-directional 36.5 m long, 2.65 m wide trams, fully air-conditioned, which can accommodate up to 230 passengers.
The propulsion with an LTO-Batterie-Package allows the TINA to overcome non-electrified sections up to 1.26 km. Driver assistance systems including a Collision Warning System enhance safety and Stadler’s UNIBOARD Driver Display provides a cutting-edge ergonomic working environment.
The move into test operations follows a comprehensive programme of vehicle development, manufacturing and testing, which has prepared the new fleet for service on The Hague's network. As additional vehicles enter service, the TINA fleet will support HTM's ambition to provide a high-quality, future-ready public transport network for the growing region.
