On 12 September 2025, Stadler and public transport company HTM officially unveiled the first TINA tram for the Netherlands in Den Haag. This tram features an innovative drive system, optimised seating capacity and an open interior design with large panoramic windows. For Stadler, the order for 62 vehicles is its first ever tram contract for the Dutch market.
With the TINA tram (Total Integrierter Niederflur-Antrieb, Totally Integrated Low Floor), Stadler is bringing a brand new generation of trams to Den Haag. This is Stadler’s first ever contract for trams in the Netherlands, and at the same time HTM is the largest TINA customer worldwide. 62 vehicles have been ordered, all of which are 36.5 m long and able to accommodate 237 passengers.
They feature a fully integrated low-floor drive system, with all drive, brake and bogie components located under the vehicle floor. This makes the tram completely step-free. In addition, the innovative drive system creates additional space for seats and allows for large panoramic windows, creating a light, airy environment. Multifunctional areas for prams and wheelchairs as well as a powerful air conditioning system ensure maximum comfort for passengers. The TINA trams for Den Haag are designed in Switzerland and are built in Siedlce.
The Hague region is growing, with the number of jobs, homes and residents steadily going up. The new TINA tram is part of a substantial investment made by the “Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Region” in the sustainable modernisation of public transport in the region. Following a one-year period of thorough testing and commissioning taking around one year, the new trams will gradually replace the existing vehicles from 2026 on.
