TMH Has Completed The Supply Of Hoppers For RZD

On 17 December 2020, Transmash of Engels (part of TMH) has completed the delivery of a batch of 300 Model VPM-770 hopper wagons to RZD. The contract was signed on 16 March 2020 forming part of the RZD’s investment plan for 2020.

The Model VPM-770 hopper is designed for transportation of crushed stone and all types of ballast that do not require protection from atmospheric precipitation with a grain size of 5 to 70 mm. The 120 km/h wagon has a 23,7 t tare weight, a 70 t payload and 40 m3 body volume.

The new Transmash-built wagons will be used by RZD Infrastruktura under the „Long term development program of Russian railways until 2025“, which involves an increase in the transport capacity of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways, as well as approaches to the ports of the Azov-Black sea basin.
