Baltiets In Regular Service

On 12 November 2022 a new Model 81-725.1/81-726.1/81-727.1 metro train was solemnly commissioned at Baltiyskaya station of St. Peterburg Metro's Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya line.

Delivery of the new stock is one of the key lines of a large-scale project for the development of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region transport system, which is carried out in accordance with the order of the President of Russia. According to the contract, 950 modern metro cars are to be built for the Northern Capital between 2022 and 2031. The supply will be financed under a leasing agreement concluded with VEB.Russia, with the help of the National Wealth Fund (NWF). The amount of financing is 96.9 billion roubles. After repayment of the loan, the funds will be returned in full to the NWF.

The trains will be supplied by Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ, part of TMH) in St. Peterburg. The first Baltiets was handed over to the operator in mid-September for testing. By now, the test have been successfully completed.
