ČD's Class 384 fleet complete

posted on 31st Aug 2026 14:45

On 31 August 2026, ČD held a ceremonial handover of the last of the "fast" Vectrons, i. e. 384.050, at the Praha-Vršovice depot. The last delivered pair, 384.049 + 050, completed acceptance runs on 13 August, and both locomotives were officially handed over to the operatot by Siemens Mobility on 24 August 2026.

The Class 384 is now primarily used in international service from Praha to Berlin - Hamburg and Bratislava - Budapest, and with the progressing deliveries, it already largely covers the diagrams primarily providing services on the (Przemyśl -) Kraków - Bohumín - Wien (- Graz) lines. In domestic service, the Class 384s, in addition to their traditional „Slovácký expres“ workings, often appear, for example, on the Praha - České Budějovice line. In their final state, they are also planned for service to København and via the Koralmbahn to Villach.

ČD thus has now in total 111 Vectrons in its fleet. Apart of 50 Class 384s there are also 61 standard-design Vectrons, of them are 11 in the operator's own state, 40 leased from RSL and 10 on lease from ELL.
