Egyptian Velaro on test in Belgium

On 26 September 2025, HSL Belgium did the transfer of Egyptian Velaro 8006 for test runs in Belgium. It was transported by a Class 66 locomotive (on rent from Beacon Rail), between two Railadventure waggons, from Germany to Brussels (Vorst), where all the high speed trains are placed in a secured zone. On 29 September it started tests on the high speed line between Leuven and Luik (Liège).
In late October, Velaro 8006 did some nightly braking tests on the high speed line between Leuven and Liège, before being transported on 7 November to Le Coucou (near Ath) for testing there.
