With extensive experience in the Polish market, HÜBNER has a deep understanding for the specific challenges and requirements of local manufacturers and operators. This expertise is directly integrated into project execution - from system design to series support - helping to minimize risks while maximizing availability and lifecycle performance. With European production facilities in Germany and Hungary, as well as dedicated sales representation in Poland, the company provides continuous and localized support to its clients. “We are proud, that many of our core products have been operating successfully across Poland for many years” says Daniel Stück, Account Manager at HÜBNER. “This includes leading industry players such as PESA, NEWAG and Modertrans.”
As a system and component provider, HÜBNER manufactures complete gangway systems, including all core components such as bellows, upper and lower articulations, and turntables - all of which can be combined with clearly defined interfaces. Additional products include components for bogies, door safety and sealing systems, window systems, insulation solutions, ramps, cockpit displays, driver assistance systems, and train front-end solutions. “Customers can select and combine the products that meet their exact needs - and benefit from integrated, perfectly tailormade systems,” explains Daniel Stück.
HÜBNER and the Polish manufacturer PESA Bydgoszcz are collaborating on two platforms: the new EMU (electric multiple unit) Regio 160, designed for operations of up to 160 km/h, as well as the flagship EMU Regio 200. HÜBNER is delivering approximately 70 gangway systems by February 2027, including premium gangways for the flagship Regio 200 project for the Czech line R9 Praha - Havlíčkův Brod - Jihlava/Bno, which will be operated by RegioJet.
This regional train, equipped with HÜBNER gangways, maintains pressure-tight performance at speeds of up to 200 km/h. For Regio 160 and 200, HEMSCHEIDT Rail, an affiliated company of HÜBNER, is contributing about 330 pre-assembled anti-roll bar systems. The pre-assembly allows PESA to save significant time and resources during development and series production. “We are proud that we can support our customer in entering the semi-high-speed segment,” says Daniel Stück. “By combining our products and solutions, we reduce interface risks and simplify responsibilities - with HÜBNER serving as the central point of contact.”
For more than two decades, HÜBNER has supported its customer Modertrans, a tram specialist, in equipping tram vehicles with complete gangway systems, including upper and lower articulation, bellows and the turntables. Most recently, HÜBNER received a new order for Moderus Gamma Poznań trams to supply 60 gangway systems according to the latest fire resistance standards (from DIN 5510 to EN 4554). The delivery was successfully completed in June 2025. Starting in October 2025, the same system will be provided for 12 trams for Szczecin, with a total of 24 gangways systems.
HÜBNER’s involvement is similarly extensive in the Impuls 2 EMU platform developed by the Polish manufacturer NEWAG. As part of this project, 35 PKP Intercity diesel trains will be replaced by new hybrid-powered units. “We are supplying five gangways per train - a total of 175 integrated gangway systems over the coming years,” explains Daniel Stück. “We congratulate NEWAG on this major success and strongly support their efforts to promote innovative and sustainable rail transport.”
HÜBNER ensures regional accessibility and on-site coordination in Poland. This accelerates project steps, clarifies technical details efficiently, and enables binding decisions - resulting in fewer friction losses and predictable schedules. Plus, HÜBNER supports operators throughout the entire product lifecycle: from refurbishment and modernization to original spare parts with rapid delivery. This minimizes downtime and makes maintenance interventions predictable.
HÜBNER is supplying new gangway systems to PESA in Bydgoszcz for the EMU project, scheduled between 2025 and 2027. A total of 65 units will be supplied as replacements as past of the scope of the P5 inspection. This will ensure the continued reliability and performance of the fleet while maintaining high availability through targeted service and modernization efforts. “Our promise: fast, proactive, and on equal footing. We keep your fleet available - with direct spare parts supply and well-defined service packages throughout the entire product lifecycle,” explains Dennis Böhm, Regional Sales Manager After Sales & Service.
Representatives from HÜBNER will be present at the joint stand with El Cab in Hall A, Stand 18. The HÜBNER Group will be exhibiting alongside its affiliated companies, HEMSCHEIDT Rail and GERSYS. “We are looking forward to meeting our polish partners at TRAKO 2025,” says Daniel Stück. “Our goal: to convey our customer promise of reliability and expertise to establish new contacts.”
