On 17 December 2025,Koleje Mazowieckie (KM, Masovian Railways) and Stadler Polska have signed a contract for the delivery of 11 additional FLIRT EMUs completing the operator’s largest-ever investment programme. Under the framework agreement, a total of 75 trains will be supplied to KM. To date, 64 units have already been contracted.
"Mazovian Railways is one of the most modern regional carriers in the country, partly because they are constantly investing in new rolling stock. In March, we signed a contract for the purchase of 14 FLIRTs, and today we signed another contract, this time for 11 ones. In total, the entire project will include the purchase of 75 units, and the first of them will be on the tracks in April 2026," emphasizes Adam Struzik, Marshal of Masovian Voivodeship.
The contract also covers maintenance services, technical training for staff, and repair packages. All new FLIRTs will be manufactured at the Stadler’s Siedlce plant, with significant involvement from local partners and suppliers.
“The signing of this final executive contract is a milestone for us. Completing the full framework agreement allows us to continue expanding our Siedlce operations and strengthening our presence in the region. This year alone, we have created nearly 400 new jobs at Stadler Polska, and our engineering team has grown to 100 specialists – and we are still recruiting. This is excellent news not only for Stadler but also for our local partners, who play a vital role in delivering this project,” said Radosław Banach, CEO of Stadler Polska.
Production of the previous 64 units is progressing on schedule. At present, 25 trains are at various stages of manufacturing, commissioning, and type testing. Once all 160 km/h units are delivered, KM will operate 146 FLIRTs - the largest fleet of this type in Poland.
The partnership between Stadler Polska and KM spans almost 20 years. The first FLIRTs delivered in 2006 continue to operate reliably on regional routes, including Warszawa - Siedlce. Between 2020 and 2023, Stadler delivered 61 FLIRTs to the operator, and under the contracts signed in 2024 - 25, additional 75 units will follow.
