New TVZ-Built Double-Deck Restaurant Car Authorised

On 18 November 2021, during the Transport Week 2021 (Transportnaya nedelya 2021) exhibition, held between 13 and 19 November in Moskva, Alexander Komissarov, Head of the RSFZhT (Register for Certification on Federal Railway Transport), handed over to Alexey Moguchev, Technical Director of TVZ, a certificate of compliance with TR TS 001/2011 (the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union) for the new Model 61-4525 restaurant car. 

The certificate allows these cars to be operated without restrictions in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union countries - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.

The new restaurant car is designed to operate in the trains consisting of new Model 61-4523 and 61-4524 double-deckers, and was prepared based on a comprehensive analysis of the operating experience of the previous Model 61-4473 car, which was created at TVZ in 2013. 

The new dining cars are expected to be produced for RZD (FPK) under a contract signed in 2019 for a total of 3,730 coaches of various types until 2025. The first Model 61-4525 car is planned to be handed over to FPK soon, and the start of batch production is scheduled for 2022.
