On 23 September 2025, at TRAKO, Stadler Polska celebrated an important milestone - the 1,000th vehicle built at its Siedlce works. The jubilee train is a five-car, latest-generation FLIRT EMU for Koleje Mazowieckie. The vehicle is the first unit from the orders placed in 2024 by the Mazovian regional operator. Stadler Polska will deliver up to 75 new trains to serve routes across the Mazovia region.
This achievement highlights not only the scale of the company’s growth in Poland but also symbolically concludes 18 years of successful operations of the Siedlce plant since 2006. The first in Poland produced vehicle and the last have both got a Koleje Mazowieckie livery.
From Siedlce to 18 European countries
The history of Stadler Polska in Siedlce began in 2006 with a contract for 14 FLIRT EMUs, 10 of which were delivered to Koleje Mazowieckie. This order was an impulse for establishing a production facility in Poland. Since then, all 237 vehicles for the domestic market, and even more for export, have been manufactured in Siedlce.
During the last 18 years the plant has continuously developed – modernizing and expanding production halls and offices, investing in cutting-edge technologies, building a network of local Polish suppliers, and creating new jobs in production and engineering. Today, the facility boasts an impressive record: in cooperation with local suppliers and partners, it has produced 1,000 rail vehicles that transport passengers across 18 European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, and Spain. The Stadler Polska works now has aroun 1,500 employees.
135 FLIRT trains from Mazovia for Mazovia
Poland remains the largest market for Stadler Polska, with 237 vehicles currently operating on Polish network, in the livery of PKP Intercity, Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna, Koleje Śląskie, MPK Kraków and Koleje Mazowieckie.
The cooperation between Stadler and Koleje Mazowieckie has been built over nearly two decades. Vehicles ordered in 2006 are still reliably operating on Polish tracks, including the Warszawa – Siedlce route. Between 2020 and 2023, the plant delivered 61 FLIRTs to the operator. Under contracts signed in 2024 and 2025, Stadler Polska will supply KM with up to 75 new FLIRT EMUs.
Adam Struzik, Marshal of Mazovia Voivodeship: “The 1,000th vehicle produced at Siedlce, which will operate on Mazovian tracks in Koleje Mazowieckie livery, is a perfect summary of our long-standing and fruitful cooperation. Currently, KM operates 71 Stadler-built vehicles, and in the coming years, the operator’s fleet will increase by another 64 units”.
Upon completion of the current orders, Koleje Mazowieckie will operate a total of 135 FLIRT vehicles, with a further contract for 11 ones planned. The vehicles significantly contribute to improving the comfort and safety of travel on routes from Warsaw to Masovian cities and towns.
