Again More RegioPanters For ČD

On 21 December 2021, České dráhy ordered another 31 three-car RegioPanter EMUs from Škoda Transportation. The new trains are intended for services in and around Praha, as well as in the Středočeský, Ústecký and Královéhradecký kraj (Regions of Central Bohemia, Ústí nad Labem and Hradec Králové), where they will replace the elderly trains.

They will be fitted with on-board ETCS and are scheduled for delivery in 2024, helping significantly to modernise the ČD fleet. With the order for 31 new RegioPanters, ČD has exercised the entire remaining option for EMUs from the framework contracts concluded in 2019 and 2020 for up to 50 Type EMU 160 units and 60 Type EMU 240 units (the numbers indicate train’s passenger capacity), with a total value of more than 15 billion CZK (around 60 million EUR).

After delivery of all batches, ČD's Panter family will grow to a total of 147 regional RegioPanter and 14 long-distance InterPanter EMUs (the total number of all cars will be 436).
