Assembly of the first Moskva-2026 metro train started

In October 2025, Metrovagonmash of Mytishchi began assembly of the new Model 81-775.2/776.2/777.2 Moskva-2026 train. It will be delivered to the Moskva Metro under the current contract, which calls for the delivery of a total of 2,592 cars between 2020 and 2027, including 704 ones in 2026 - 2027. Assembly of the first unit is expected to be completed by the end of this year, after which it will undergo factory testing and then be sent to the Moskva Metro for testing.
The Moskva-2026 family will be a technological successor to the Moskva-2024 trains. The upgraded trains will feature updated interior elements, glass handrails in the entrance area, and a rearview camera housing. Passenger seats will be more comfortable thanks to the removal of metal joints. The exterior lighting in the front cars will also be updated.
