International premiere of the new RegioPanter BEMU generation

On 23 September 2025, unit 690.001 was unveiled at TRAKO 2025 as a representative of the new generation of RegioPanter BEMUs. The vehicle is being exhibited by the Škoda Group in cooperation with ČD and the Moravian-Silesian Region (MSK). The ČD order is for 15 of these BEMUs intended for use in the MSK. The trains are scheduled to enter service in early 2027. Their maximum speed is 160 km/h when running under the catenary and 120 km/h in a battery mode, where they have a working range of 80 km.
Petr Novotný, Škoda Group CEO, said: “Thanks to the BEMU concept, which combines continuous charging under the catenary and battery operation outside electrified sections, these trains bring lower operating costs to operators and faster, more comfortable services without transfers to passengers. We see strong export potential for this solution for a number of regions - especially in Central and Eastern Europe.”
