At the VUZ Velim test centre are now ot test two Civity Nordic EMUs from the order for Krösatågen (in Swedish, “Krösa” means cranberry and “tåg” is train). On 11 September 2024, unit 803 001 arrived at the Velim circuit, and later 803 003 arrived, both are now undergoing selected type tests here.

The 2021 contract with CAF includes 20 four-car EMUs and 8 EDMUs, and deliveries were originally supposed to start at the end of 2023. Last year, the start in 2025 was mentioned, and even that it turned out to be too optimistic, as Krösatågen is now already talking about 2026; only the tests at Velim are planned for about a year.

803 002 arrived in Sweden in March 2025. It was transported from Spain to Rostock and from there by ferry to Trelleborg, after which it was moved by Hector Rail to Nässjö on 10 March. It now faces at least a year of test runs of 20,000 km, including winter tests (although one unit was subjected to tests in the RTA Rail Tec Arsenal climate chamber in Wien). The train will be tested on the lines with the Swedish ATC and with ETCS.

803 002 is now in Sweden the first representative of the 28-strong batch for Transitio, which provides the units for the Krösatågen group of services. The latter combines regional rail transport in several regions in southern Sweden (Kalmar, Jönköping, Blekinge and Kronoberg). The color of the CAF-built trains resembles cranberries, characteristic for this region. The operator here has been SJ, through its SJ Krösa organizational unit, since December 2021.
