Production of Type 26Ev EMUs for ARRIVA vlaky

On 9 September 2026, Škoda Vagonka in the presence of customer presented the first two bodyshells for the Type Škoda 26Ev EMUs, with the first of them already having undergone painting. At this moment, the production of prototype units of both length variants was launched, and final assembly will begin in September.
Škoda Group concluded a contract with ARRIVA vlaky in July 2025 for 22 low-floor dual-voltge units, specifically 16 three-car and 6 four-car ones, referred to in the project as EMU200 and EMU300. Trains with a maximum speed of 200 km/h are to work on the Ex6 Praha - Plzeň - Cheb and R16 Praha - Beroun - Plzeň - Klatovy lines from December 2028.
The first bodyshells was completed in August, the others are to leave the production line at approximately two-week intervals. In parallel with the production of prototypes, type tests of individual components are being carried out to verify compliance with the required technical and safety parameters.
Škoda Group is starting testing of the traction system in cooperation with the RICE research center of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. The creation and verification of the vehicle software will take place at Škoda Digital. Testing of prototype units is to begin in spring 2027. This will be followed by the tests necessary for the approval of the new vehicle type and preparation for batch production.
