Smartron deliveries for northrail complete

Deliveries of additional Smartrons for the northrail pool were completed in May 2025. The latter now has 30 locomotives of this type. A framework contract for 25 Smartrons was signed in December 2018, and has been progressively filled with firm orders. Five more 192s have been ordered in 2023.

The last Smartron of the base order (192 009 - 018, 024, 043, 047, 050, 059 - 060, 061, 076 - 083) was taken over from the manufacturer on 25 July 2023. Deliveries of the additional five, 192 115 - 119, took place between March and May 2025, with 192 116 and 117 being the last ones to be handed over in May following agreement with the lessee. These, as well as 192 119, are rented by KombiRail Europe (KRE), while 192 115 and 118 are rented by Dispo-Tf Rail.

Northrail is the fleet manager and lessor for the RIVE Private Investment group, which has been the majority owner of Northrail since last year.
