Správa Železnic Ordered A Vectron MS

On 19 August 2021, the Czech infrastructure manager Správa železnic signed a contract with Siemens Mobility Czech Republic for the purchase of a Vectron multi-system locomotive. It will be used for diagnostics of the Czech and foreign railway networks, including the lines fitted with ETCS.

It will be 193 901, which has the on-board ETCS according to the latest Baseline 3 standard and is already authorised for operation under ETCS supervision on lines in the Czech Republic and abroad. So far it has been used as a test locomotive by the manufacturer, the delivery to Správa železnic is scheduled during autumn 2021.

It should be recalled that another Siemens's test locomotive, 193 902, was previously purchased by ČD in 2020.
