Talent BEMU Temporary Out Of Service

In January 2022, the Talent 3 BEMU (8442 100) started the test passenger service on electrified and non-electrified lines in Bayern and Baden-Württemberg. However, in March, two of the four battery blocks of the Talent failed and it was withdrawn from service in Bayern.

In late May, Alstom announced that the problem had been rectified and that necessary tests are underway. In parallel, discussions are underway on the possibility of a return the BEMU to service during the summer.
