On 31 August 2025, Czech railways broke the previous speed limit of 160 km/h in regular passenger transport. The ČD Pendolino on the Praha - České Budějovice line (164 km) achieves speeds of 200 km/h for the first time. Passengers will thus reach the South Bohemian metropolis in a record time of 95 minutes, while in the opposite direction the train will be five minutes faster. The Class 680 Pendolino reaches 200 km/h thanks to the bodyshell active tilting on two sections of the southern corridor: Votice - Sudoměřice and Doubí - Soběslav.
The first train with a speed of 200 km/h departed on a regular line as the IC 591 Pendolino service, depart from Praha hl. n. according to the timetable at 20.27 h and arrival in České Budějovice at 22.02 h. The return morning service, the IC 590 Pendolino, leaves České Budějovice at 05.59 h and arrives in Praha at 07.29 h.
