Coradia Stream EMUs deliveries to ARF

On 11 August 2025, the ARF project team took over the RE-IR 101 004 unit. This happened at the Alstom depot in the Atelierele CFR Grivița workshops in the northwestern part of Bucharest, where this train arrived from the manufacturer on 18 June 2025. The handover was also attended by a representative of Egis Romania as the supervisor of this 2022 contract for the purchase of a total of 37 interregional units.

The acceptance process was similar to that of RE-IR 101 002, which ARF representatives took over as the second in line on 5 August 2025 at the same location. The very first Sageată Roşie („Red Arrow“) to take over by ARF was RE-IR 101 003 on 22 July 2025.

Just on 11 August, ARF handed over the RE-IR 101 004 to CFR - Călători. The latter will receive a total of twelve of the new trains under the contract with ARF for the operation of the public service obligation in the first tender issued in Romania (CSP-L1) No. RUIC 61/29.12.2023, approved by Government Decision No. 1328/28.12.2023.

CFR - Călători started passenger operation using RE-IR101 002 in November 2024. Specifically, these 12 Coradias will be deployed on CSP-L1 routes:
- București - Constanța,
- București - Craiova,
- București - Ploiești - Brașov - Sighișoara - Alba Iulia - Deva - Arad - Timișoara,
- București - Craiova - Drobeta Turnu Severin - Timișoara - Arad,
- București - Craiova - Târgu Jiu - Deva.
