On Saturday, 29 November 2025, Elron and Škoda Group presented at the Baltic Station (Balti Jaam) in Tallinn two of the new EMUs that will enter service on 15 December. Specifically, it were 4351 for regional transport and 3341, a long-distance version of the trains, which then served the (suburban) route to Kloogaranna until the evening.
Of the total of 16 units the entire batch has already been produced. From 15 December, the suburban RegioPanters will start service between Tallinn and Kloogaranna. From 5 January 2026, it is planned to deploy new suburban and long-distance EMU on the Tallinn - Tapa route. The Tallinn - Tartu line will be added after the completion of infrastructure work.
Lauri Betlem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elron, adds: “The number of passengers on Elron trains has increased from 4.3 million to almost 8 million per year over the past twelve years. To offer passengers an even better experience, we will put 16 new suburban and long-distance trains manufactured by Škoda into operation next year.”
