Siemens's first Rail Service Center in Poland

Siemens Mobility is expanding its European rail service network with the construction of a new Rail Service Center in Gądki, south-east of Poznań. The new depot is scheduled to open in 2027 and will provide comprehensive maintenance services for locomotives operating in Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe.
The new 4,300 m2 facility will accommodate up to seven locomotives simultaneously and will have around 5 km of electrified tracks, maintenance equipment, including an underfloor wheel lathe and a dropping table, as well as a dedicated testing area. Service operations will be based on Railigent X, Siemens Mobility’s suite for applications and services, helping to optimize maintenance processes and maximize fleet availability. The new depot in Poland will become an integral part of Siemens Mobility’s European service network for locomotives and further strengthens its global service footprint.

The facility will offer both light and heavy maintenance and cover a broad range of activities, from scheduled inspections and maintenance of safety systems to major overhauls, modifications, accident repairs and mobile service. Sustainability is also a key element of the new facility, which is planned to operate carbon neutrally.
Siemens Mobility already has more than 15 years of experience in locomotive maintenance in Poland. Today, a team of more than 60 specialists supports several hundred locomotives annually, including Vectron, Taurus and Class 189 (ES64F4) locomotives. Siemens Mobility has also been ECM-certified in Poland since 2021, providing the framework for maintenance management, engineering support and fleet management. The new Rail Service Center will consolidate and expand these existing capabilities, while increasing the range and capacity of services that can be performed locally.
The development of the new Rail Service Center is supported by local and regional partners, including Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship, together with the Municipality of Kórnik and the Zakłady Kórnickie Foundation.
