Rail Business Days 2023 (1)

On 6 June 2023 at the Rail Business Days in Ostrava, Stadler and ZSSK presented the first six-car double-deck KISS EMU of the Class 561 to the public. This will be the first time that Stadler's double-deckers will be running on the Slovak network. The 25 kV 50 Hz units are 155 m long and have a maximum speed of 160 km/h. With 611 seats, KISS is the highest-capacity unit on Slovak and Czech railways.

The Praha branch of Stadler was responsible for the construction of the KISSes for ZSSK. Production is underway at the Siedlce plant, with four units scheduled for delivery by the end of 2023.
