First Vectrons with MEDWAY Belgium

On 29 September 2025, MEDWAY Belgium, a subsidiary of MSC, officialy inaugurated its first two Vectron at the SNCB Antwerp-Noord depot. They form part of a batch of 15 locomotives ordered in 2023, together with a full-service maintenance contract. The 6,400 kW AC locomotives will support rail freight transport from Antwerp to Germany, the Netherlands, and Central and Eastern Europe. The next delivery of locomotives (in the full MEDWAY possession, no leasing) will be in 2026.
Thanks to ECM certification and the extensive local expertise of Siemens Mobility, MEDWAY can guarantee the high reliability of its fleet. Maintenance is carried out at the SNCB Antwerp-Noord depot through a partnership between Siemens Mobility Belgium and SNCB, securing railway expertise and employment in Belgium.
