On 25 September, České dráhy, Siemens Mobility and Škoda Group presented the ComfortJet cars to the public. Previously, on the occasion of InnoTrans, ČD used ComfortJet rakes on the EC "Berliner" services for the first time on 24 and 25 September. From Sunday 29 September, two of these non-traction multiple units (NMUs) will be díagrammed on the EC 178/175 and EC 176/177 "Berliner" Praha - Berlin services operated in cooperation with DB.
From Monday 23 September 2024, ČD will also temporarily deploy one ComfortJet on selected "Kosičan" Praha - Ostrava - Košice services.
For the time being, ČD has put four ComfortJets into service in a temporary eight-car arrangement without a driving trailer and restaurant car. The other currently taken over NMUs will now serve as a reserve, or the training of on-board and workshop staff will continue on them. With the arrival of more ComfortJets, their operations will be extended to the "Vindobona" and "Metropolitan" services.
Siemens Mobility named this type of NMU as Vectrain, a name first officially introduced at InnoTrans 2022. At this year's InnoTrans, the new term Vectouro was announced for the "standardized passenger coach" as part of the Vectrain.
